Marina Litvinenko, Alexander Litvinenko's widow is a former professional dancer from Moscow, as writer known for My Friend Sasha: A Very Russian Murder (2007), Poisoned by Polonium: The Litvinenko File (2007) and Death of a Dissident (2008). Since Alexander Litvinenko's death, she has been a tireless campaigner for justice for her late husband through the Litvinenko Justice Foundation. In October 2011, she won the right for an inquest into her husband's death to be conducted by a coroner in London. A public inquiry began on 27 January 2015 and concluded (The Litvinenko inquiry: report into the death of Alexander Litvinenko; Home Office UK, 21 January 2016) that the Russian State was responsible for Litvinenko's poisoning with polonium 210.
