Hakan Günday

Hakan Günday is one of Turkey’s leading underground writers, born in Rhodes, Greece. He studied at the Faculty of Literature of Hacettepe University (the Department of French Translator), Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Ankara University (the Faculty of Political Sciences). Günday published his first novel Kinyas ve Kayra in 2000, which was followed by Zargana (2002), Piç (2003), Malafa (2005), Azil (2007), Ziyan (2009), Az (2011). His award-winning (Prix Médicis, 2015) book More (2016), is the world’s first novel about the recent years’ refugee crisis. As a playwrighter he is working in cooperation with DOT company-İstanbul. The premier of his play, Mandrel was at the 17th International İstanbul Theatre Festival (2010).
