Corona

The city’s sybaritic soul is sterilised by an unbidden guest
Death runs a lottery in the streets
And fear cries: Kissing is forbidden!
Alienation writhes hidden under our skin
And the alleys are struck by denial
This is the wonder of our time
Old mothers clasp their hands in prayer
Young women break old crosses
People disagree
And the classes too
Prison! Prison!
The state quarantines us
The obedient citizens lift their glasses at home
And a child from the poor southern part of town
Searches for survival
Among the neighbourhood waste …
